1. How many different expansion options can MX-7
provide?
MX-7 provides the following connection/expansion
i. USB – for exchanging data with PC
(USB host);
ii. RS232 – for connecting to RS232
terminal (e.g. hyperterminal) or 56kb/s External Modem
iii. PS2 – for connecting to a standard
PS2 keyboard device;
iv. SD/MMC – for inserting SD card
or MMC card;
v. CF – not a built-in feature, need
extra hardware module to be connected to a 140-pin connector.
2. Can VR3’s applications run on MX-7?
No, VR3 applications are based on FLTK and MX-7 applications
are based on QT.
3. Does MX-7 provide Ethernet, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPRS,
CDMA connection?
MX-7 provides expansion (SD, CF, RS232, etc.) for users to
add on extra hardware and software to expand the connections
to different technology.
4. Can I expand memory for MX-7?
Yes, users can add SD or MMC memory card to expand the memory
of MX-7.
5. Can I upgrade kernel and rootdisk for MX-7?
Yes, users can upgrade both kernel and rootdisk according
to their needs.
6. What is included in the MX-7 package?
MX-7 main unit + USB cable + CD (QT Desktop) + Quick Reference
Guide + AC/DC adapter.
7. Does MX-7 provide hand-recognition input?
Yes, the handwriting recognition engine is a basic feature
from Qtopia.
8. Can I beam records with other PDA products?
Yes, Qtopia is using vcard format for phone records so users
can beam records between vcard compatible devices.
9. Can MX-7 act as a remote controller using the
built-in IR?
Yes, MX-7 is using a long range IrDA module but there is no
built-in application to make use of this feature.
10. Can MX-7 play movie?
Yes, MX7 is capable of playing MPEG movie as well as MP3 music.
11. Can I download new applications to MX-7?
Yes, users can search Qtopia applications from the Internet
and use QT Desktop to download new applications to the device.
12. What applications does MX-7 provide?
MX-7 is using Qtopia which provides a complete PIM
